TOP NEWS OF THE WEEK 1

The Golem is still at large.  Shivers and Operatives both are still puzzled at the nature of this killer.  The Golem appears to be fully versed in all SLA operations and procedures and has avoided capture.  It also seems to be becoming less selective of its victims as it has begone killing people out doors now.  Six more people have been claimed by this monster. -Sara Brynt, SCL 7C, Third EyE News

  BLACK WIDOW INCORPORATED 2

Black Widow Inc. is a new company that recently opened it doors.  A subsiduary of CAF, BWI was created to deal with the recent threat of Eagle Eye Enterprises and their various missile weapons.
Their primary concepts are based off of a sling shot. Two versions are currently in production, the BW-SS Wrist Rocket and the BW-AS Arm Rocket.  The Wrist Rocket is a collaspable sling shot with an arm brace for extra power.  The Arm Rocket is worn on the arm and can be collasped down when not used.
Both weapons use a fiber ceramic shot that revivals the 3E-Sparrow in both power and accuracy and exeeds it in speed.
A Black Widow spokesman was quoted describing the new weapons by saying, "A new style of silent missile weapons with a deadly bite." How they hold up in the market place remains to be seen. -Freddy

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Neil de Carteret, SCL 9B, Third EyE News reporter
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Each week we look at one of many valuable but oft forgotten employees of SLA  Industries who keep the world running.

This week: The Nightclub Singer

NC: Name?
DS: Dr. Smooth.

NC: Occupation?
DS: Adult entertainer

NC: Does it pay well?
DS: Surely.

NC: So, Dr. Smooth. Where did you graduate from?
DS: Excuse me?

NC: Your doctorate. Is it from Meny, or one of the city universities?
DS: Ah, well you see, it's a sort of stage name. It tells people about my philosophy, about the message of happiness that I want to give people.

NC: So you're not really a doctor at all?
DS: Well I am, in many ways. I like to think I heal people's inner woes, give them the medicine of love and treat them in the hospital of care.

NC: So what's your real name?
DS: I'm afraid my contract does not permit me to engage in any publicity under my own name.

NC: You're quite famous in certain clubs: the Pit, Fatty's and more. Where did you start?
DS: It was a karaoke show one Friday night in Fatty's. I didn't know I could sing, but I went up on the stage and did "Delilah". A man approached me afterwards and offered me a club contract; he's my agent now.

NC: Fatty's is an operative bar. Were you an operative?
DS: I still am, although my BPN account is indefinitely suspended. I left Orange Crush twenty seven years ago and spent three years being a Kick Murder operative. When the contract came along, I was looking for a new squad.

NC: Kick Murder? I'll keep my distance.
DS: People always say that, but the truth is I've forgotten most of my training. I find it much more fulfilling to deal out love rather than pain. In the early days, I used to be announced on stage as "the kick murder with a heart" but my agent got them to drop that.

NC: How do you view competition from younger artists? Bloody Cannibals are doing the club circuit at the moment, and proving it as a viable source of venues for more hard-core groups.
DS: I respect Bloody Cannibals for their song-writing and performing ability. They have wonderful stagecraft, and lots of energy, but I don't think we're really in competition. There'll always be a need for a place where people come to relax and feel loved.

NC: But they take bookings away from you.
DS: Well, quite. But I don't feel any need to take defensive action.

NC: So any new work on the horizons?
DS: I'll be launching an album of my favorite songs later this year, and I'm looking into recording with RazorThrote.

NC: Aren't RazorThrote a blood metal thrash rock fusion band?
DS: Blood... what? Well, I suppose it depends how you look at it. But I respect them for their song writing and performing ability. They have wonderful stagecraft and lots of energy.

NC: Thank you for talking to us, and thank you for proving that artistic integrity is still alive.
DS: Love to the world.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

As editor of The Mort Times, Dead Tree Edition, I try to answer all questions concerning our paper and the reports in a public forum. -Eric Larsen, SCL 7C, Mort Times, Editor in Chief

Dear MT,
Don't you feel that the recent gameshows leave alot to be desired?  The chances of more deaths like the "Shooting Things For Money" incident, only increase.  These things should be stopped.  SGT Douglas, Monarch Police

Dear SGT Douglas,
Both Gorezone and BLA put alot of effort into making sure the shows are as safe as possible.  Accidents happen, unfortunately, and people pay the price.  The contestant all sign waivers acknoledging the danger and the crews all know before hand as well.  Besides, couldn't you use 1 Million Unis?  I know I can and I already got my ticket for next week.

1) The Tops News Story is a feed story for the Burning Chrome BPN.

2) Check out a following post on the weapons.  I will be posting them sooner or later on my site as well.  Both Freddy Lennon and Key the Metal Idol gets credit for this one.  Though I got the idea from Key first, Freddy brought it up on the list many months ago and I'm using the name he called them.

3) The Point training package was developed by Peter Bogdasarian.  For more information go here.

4) If you have players, for whatever reason, are interested to be on contestant on the MCL, this is what they get.  They get to keep all the shells and casings from their pistols, each casing has the MCL logo on it.  A one month supply of JABT breakfast bars and a promotional picture of them and the carrien they killed.
