Going Places Again
Well, the trip to Oak Ridge fell through. Instead, it looks like I might be spending some time in Bethesda, Maryland. If I do get any chance to do
some sightseeing, does anybody have any recommendations for what to see in that part of the world?

Jeez crimany, John, you'll be within the central Interstate loop for Washington D.C.! The problem might be having too many recommendations...all
historical. Mount Vernon, Arlington Cemetery, Fort Washington, the White House, Lincoln Monument...
But maybe that wouldn't be your top priority.
The problem is I haven't traipsed that area with my own two feet myself, so I can't recommend nice parks or good restaurants (but it being Washington
DC, there's got to be oodles of them). The only time I've been there, I was driving a vehicle too large to go on any but the largest of roads and had
to stay on the outskirts. I only got to enjoy the traffic jams.

The central Interstate loop for Washington DC ... That would be the Beltway, yes?
As I said, I don't know if I'll get any time to sightsee. However, I would like to. If we can get our Chief Engineer to come with us, I'm sure we can
wangle a trip down the National Mall. However, his idea of a good time usually involves bars.
It's a pity it's a work trip and we will probably only get to spend a couple of days there before heading for Pittsburgh or Schenectady
